This folding chessboard No. 5 with notation is a large tournament board with algebraic notation and a classic mahogany-and-maple inlaid finish, made for play with Staunton No. 5 pieces.
When open, it measures 480 × 480 × 14 mm, with 50 mm squares that suit the standard 3.5" piece size. That makes it a practical choice for home games, club play, tournament use, study and training, and it also works well as a replacement board for a worn set.
The notation along the edges makes it easier to record moves and follow games during analysis, study and practice. Because the board folds in half, it is easier to store and carry after play, and it takes up less space in a cupboard, bag or on a shelf.
